We are pleased to share that we will be able to offer the Fall 2022 PSAT/NMSQT to any interested sophomores and juniors. The College Board is now allowing an additional PSAT/NMSQT test date, which will allow us to open additional seats and accommodate interested sophomores in addition to juniors. If you are interested in having your sophomore or junior take the PSAT this fall, please register here. The deadline to register is September 9, 2022.The PSAT / NMSQT test date will be October 12th and if additional space is needed, on October 25th as well. Both of these tests will be held during the school day and interested students should be prepared to take the test on either of the days. Please note that if you have already registered for the test, you do not need to register again.
As you make your decision to register for this test opportunity, we want our families to be aware that many colleges are no longer considering the SAT as part of their admissions criteria - you can read more about this at fairtest.org. The PSAT/NMSQT is not a requirement for PUSD students and is not required for community colleges as well. The PSAT is a practice test for the SAT, and a qualifier for the National Merit process. The SAT is used by some colleges for admissions purposes, but not by community colleges for admissions and typically not in the transfer process if you spend two years at community college.
