Students and parents are invited to a Virtual (likely Zoom)

New-to-District Student Orientation on August 5, 2020

Information will be shared closer to the date.

If you are new to Pleasanton Unified School District, are living within Amador Valley High School boundaries, and have a current or incoming high school student, please read the following:

An appointment is required to enroll a new student at Amador Valley. This applies to students new to the district and those transferring from Foothill High School. Before you make your appointment, please complete the following steps:

1 STEP ONE: Pre-Enroll Online:

The Pleasanton school district requires that all new to PUSD students pre-enroll online.

(Note: If your student has ever been enrolled in a Pleasanton Unified school for any length of time, then you should not pre-enroll your student online. You must still complete the registration form found in the link in step two.)

Please click here for the online pre-enrollment site. Once you access the site, follow the prompts to create your account and securely save your information online. Pre-enrolling students online is a vital step in the enrollment process that must be done before you show up at the office (or on the Zoom call) with registration documents.

Please click here for pre-enrollment instructions in Spanish.

2 STEP TWO: Complete the Registration Form:

Click here for the registration form (50750) to complete and turn in (or scan) to Linda Pipe, Registrar ( . You will need to print out the form and complete it off-line, then scan the completed form. Click here for the registration form (50750) in Spanish.

3 STEP THREE: Collect the following documents:

Required documents to bring with you (or attach virtually):

  • Two (2) proofs of residency -- Current utility bills such as water, PG&E, garbage or cable and/or a mortgage closing statement or rental agreement.
  • Immunization records including proof by doctor's signature for chickenpox and whooping cough vaccines. Must be translated if records are not in English. Click on the list of Immunization requirements.
  • Original birth certificate or passport.
  • Copy of latest report card for incoming 9th-grader, or, for an incoming high school student, a copy of an official transcript for each high school attended (if multiple). Must be translated if academic history is not in English.

Additional documents, if applicable:

  • Students on Open Enrollment or Inter-district Transfers must submit an approved copy.
  • Students with an IEP or 504 must submit a copy.

5 STEP FIVE: Make Your Appointment:

Please email all requested documents (Steps 1-4), in one email, to the AVHS Registrar, Linda Pipe at . You are then welcome to go on to and make an appointment. Please do not schedule an appointment on the same day you emailed the documents as that will not give enough time to process/check the completion and accuracy of the documents scanned. After reviewing documents submitted, the Registrar will send you a google meets invite to confirm the enrollment appointment. Please make sure your student is part of the virtual meeting as it is the student's high school experience we will be discussing.

6 STEP SIX: Check out our New Student/Family FAQ’s:

To help orient you as a new family to Amador Valley High School, check out the New Student FAQ's (link below) which contains all kinds of useful information.

7  STEP SEVEN: Connect to Technology at Amador Valley:

Once your student is enrolled and has been assigned a student ID, your student will set up a PUSD Gmail account and access to ‘Q’, the online student portal. Q is our portal for accessing grades and attendance. You, as a parent/guardian, will also create an account linked to your student’s Q account. Click on New Student/Family Technology Access to create accounts along with additional ways for you to keep in touch with what is happening at Amador Valley. Please print out this form and you will be given the information needed during your virtual enrollment meeting.

8 STEP EIGHT: Attend Orientation:

Students who are new to Amador Valley at the beginning of the school year are invited to attend a student orientation held right before school starts. You will receive information on the date and time over the summer. During NON PANDEMIC times New Student Orientation is an assembly before the kick off of the new school year centered on getting new students comfortable with navigating campus. Students meet in the large gym for a rally-style event, mingle with other students in icebreaker activities, and break out into smaller, themed groups with "Senior Buddies" for a complete tour and explanation of Amador Valley's campus.

Parents and students who are new to the Pleasanton Unified School District are invited to an orientation also held right before school starts to introduce parents to PUSD and to give students another chance to get to know the campus, and ask questions of students here at Amador Valley High School. More information will be available on the Amador website.

During 2020 Covid19 Social Distancing: New Student Buddies/Peer Advocates will provide a virtual campus tour and answer student questions.

Counselors and Administrators will be on hand to answer parent questions via Zoom.
