Welcome to the Amador library for 2026-2027
The Library: the Place to Be!
We strive to make the library a dynamic place where students, of course, can find the resources they need whether that is for class or for personal use. And our library reflects that. We remodeled the layout of the library to allow for more collaborative work. We have also installed a laser LCD projector to facilitate presentations given by students, staff, and guests. Students can also take advantage of a green screen room for recording video projects as well as podcast studio for recording audio.
In terms of our traditional library resources, we have over 24,000 books, audiobooks, ebooks, and videos, that we check out for 3 weeks to students and longer (as needed) to staff. We also offer access to a number of online resources: Proquest (newspapers, magazines,) SIRS (social issues,) ABC-Clio(World at War, Pop Culture Universe, World History the Modern Era) and J-Stor ( primary sources and academic articles).
The usernames and passwords to the various databases are universal:
Username: avhslibrary
Password: godons!
Students will find that a number of chromebooks, scientific calculators, and laptop chargers are available available checkout. They also have access to three printers which are both located at the front desk or in the main library area. There is no charge for printing. We also offer a number of supplies for student to use to complete projects! Just ask!
Students also have access to textbooks used by all departments on campus.

We converted former computer labs to classrooms that can either be used separately or together when teachers want to bring two classes together.
